1. Dublin City Council is being accused of sectioning off a children’s play area for development without consulting the groups that use it. Community groups from the Dolphin House area will hold a protest against the move this afternoon.

2. New jurors are being sworn in for the trial of David Drumm. The former Chief Executive of Anglo Irish Bank is accused of conspiracy to defraud and to dishonestly providing false information to the market. 15 jurors were sworn in yesterday to hear the case – however a number of them have been excused this morning and new ones have to be sworn in.

4. Lidl is to create 100 new jobs in County Kildare. The retailer – which has 150 stores nationwide – has been given the green light for a new distribution centre in Newbridge. It hopes to start construction in April.

Ovidiu Hategan has now acknowledged he made a mistake. He was speaking to Romanian media after learning he would not referee at the World Cup finals in Russia.

According to the publishers, today’s relationship rules are very different and that finding the perfect partner, is harder than ever. Mills and Boon advises that FaceTime can be fun, but just remember ‘a camera sees more than just you’ – so tidy your room.
