1.Two former Donald Trump aides are being held under house arrest over allegations of conspiring against the US and money laundering. A third ex-adviser has admitted lying to the FBI over its investigation into links between the presidential campaign and Russia.

2. Kevin Spacey's hit show House of Cards is going to end after its upcoming sixth series. It's thought the decision was made before allegations emerged of him making an advance on a 14 year old boy in the 1980s - which he says he can't remember. Netflix and the programme's producer Media Rights Capital say they are 'deeply troubled' by the accusation.

3. Minister for Children, Katherine Zappone is in New York today. She's addressing the UN Security Council - and examining a special centre for child protection in the Bronx. Minister Zappone says she wants to see if the New York experience could be used back here in Ireland, when responding to reports of child abuse.

4. There are calls for tougher laws to stop attacks on emergency workers like fire-crews and ambulance teams. It follows reports of unprovoked attacks on Dublin Fire Brigade across the weekend.

5. Homemakers have been taking advantage of Government measures to entice them back to the workplace. The Ministers for Education and Training, Richard Bruton and John Halligan say there's been a strong uptake for 'Springboard' courses which were extended to homemakers for the first time, this Autumn. Over 300 homemakers enrolled for free higher education courses including Advanced Manufacturing, Business Entrepreneurship and ICT.

6. Lunchtime meal deals in some supermarkets and high street stores are apparently packed with as many as 30 teaspoons of sugar. Campaign group 'Action on Sugar' says that's the same amount as in 79 chocolate fingers biscuits. But all of the shops in its survey were also found to offer deals that amount to much lower levels - with some having as little as one teaspoon.
