Good morning and happy Friday to you. So we're nearly halfway through January - with Blue Monday on the way after the weekend... fun times! Some frost this morning which will gradually clear as winds begin to freshen. In the city it's currently five degrees.

1. Donald Trump's facing new accusations of making racially-chared remarks - after an Oval Office outburst about immigration. The President reportedly lashed out during a meeting - asking 'why do we want all these people from Africa here?' A source says he suggested America should admit more people from Norway instead.

2. As hospitals continue to struggle with the effects of the winter flu surge, the government's been urged to fund free vaccinations for children. Yesterday, the HSE said the influenza outbreak may not peak until next week - and could last a further six weeks.

3. Day two of the Regency Hotel murder trial gets underway later. Patrick Hutch Junior of Champions Avenue in Dublin 1 denies murdering David Byrne at the boxing weigh-in at the hotel almost two years ago. Yesterday the 25-year-old pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges of murder and unlawful possession of assault rifles. The trial will resume this afternoon at the Special Criminal Court.

4. All the jewellery stolen from the Ritz Hotel in Paris has been recovered. According to a first estimate, the jewels were worth more than €3.93M. Three men, all aged around 30, were arrested moments after the alarms sounded on Wednesday. Two other suspects remain on the run.

5. The future of the Republic of Ireland manager, Martin O'Neill, remains up in the air this morning. He's expected to miss out on the Stoke job - with the Potters instead making former Watford boss, Quique Sanchez Flores, their number one target.

6. Over half of Irish adults have booked a holiday to a destination, after seeing it in a film. A survey's found that 41% of Irish people have added a country to their 'holiday bucket list' after seeing it on screen. The research, commissioned by Travel Republic, found that Las Vegas, Greece, New York, and Thailand were among most sought after film location hotspots.
