Noel Gallagher has responded to a fan who recently asked him about a possible Oasis reunion.
Gallagher was asked about this, while performing at Y Not Festival, the final stop of his High Flying Birds’ tour, which saw his band headline the festival last weekend.
The musician was asked if the former Britpop favourites would possibly reunit in the next few years.
It also comes after Gene Gallagher, son of Liam and nephew of Noel, recently stated that his father wants the band to reunite.
“I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints”, he said.
“a f****** compliment”
Speaking to the audience during last weekend’s festival in Derbyshire, Noel Gallagher had this to say.
“When are we going to see you? In 2025 or 2026? The answer is neither”, he replied to the fan, which was met by a chorus of boos from the crowd. “I’ll take the fact that you’re booing as a f****** compliment!”.
Gallagher continued: “Well, this is the last night of our tour tonight… We’ve been on tour for over a year so we’re sick of the sight of each other. So, we need to get away from it for a while. I don’t know if we’re gonna tour again, I’ve got no idea. But we will… We’ve got to make a record first. We’ve gotta write one”.
“We’ve gotta write one, gotta make one… do all that fucking shit. We’ve gotta go spend some money. I have no idea, I dunno but you’ll be the first to know. Right, we’re all Oasis fans, right? Buckle up,” he added, before jumping into the iconic band’s 1997 B-side ‘Going Nowhere’.
Last month, Noel Gallagher revealed that he refused to speak with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl at Glastonbury over his attempts to bring Oasis back together.
