Noel Gallagher was his own support act yesterday evening (December 10th) at his gig at the Royal Albert Hall. During his show last night he came out twice to perform during a special one off performance at the venue.

Instead of having an actual support band Noel and Co came out to play a mini set for the crowd. The semi-acoustic 40 minute set consisted entirely of songs by Oasis.

Noel Gallagher was joined by his former bandmate Gem Archer for the set, this is the second time that the two have teamed up recently, with Archer also joining Noel at a gig in Lincoln over the weekend.

They played the Oasis b-side ‘It’s Good To Be Free’ before playing ‘D’Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman’. Noel explained the situation to the crowd “Thanks for getting here early. I am only doing this because we couldn’t find a f**king support band. I ain’t joking neither. My manager goes, ‘I’ve got a fucking great idea, you can be the support band and play for four hours’. I get double the rider though so every cloud.”

As Noel finished off the actual set he said to the crowd “What I can say it’s been an absolute f**king dream come true playing for myself tonight. Give it up for the support band they were fucking brilliant. I’ll leave you with this anyway. Merry f**king Christmas.”
