Parents Turning To Money-Lenders

A quarter of parents in debt are turning to money-lenders to meet back-to-school costs.

According to the Irish League of Credit Unions’ survey, the average amount borrowed is €439.

Almost one-third of parents will be forced to deny their children certain school items because they can’t afford them.

The ILCU’s Paul Bailey says people use several methods to try to meet their children’s needs.
