A person has been arrested on suspicion of selling child sex dolls on the internet.
The individual is one of over 100 suspects targeted in a Garda crackdown on the possession and distribution of child abuse images.
In the third phase of what Gardaí call ‘Operation Ketch’, warrants in relation to 32 premises were issued with searches carried out in 12 counties yesterday.
Digital material, computers and mobile phones were seized and will be examined and several people arrested.
In one of the searches, a person was detained on suspicion of selling or distributing child sex dolls on the internet.
The suspect has since been released without charge with a file being prepared for the DPP.
Gardai say that over 100 suspects have been targeted as part of the operation to date and say more searches in the near future are anticipated.
