Petition To Move Halloween Sees Surge In Popularity

Update: More than 140,000 thousand people have now signed a petition to move the date of Halloween.

It’s been organised by the Halloween and Costume Association in America.

The group says the festive day should be changed to the last Saturday of October.

It claims when the 31st falls mid-week it’s more dangerous and stressful.

According to the petition site organisers say they want a fixed date in October:

“National Trick or Treat Day will take place annually on the last Saturday of October so families across the country can participate in community parades, throw neighborhood parties and opt for daytime Trick or Treating.”

In July the petition had gained over 60,000 signatories:
