Pedestrian Plaza At Ha'penny Bridge

Dublin City Council have plans for a new pedestrian plaza close to the Ha’penny Bridge.

The Irish Times reports that the proposals include a pedestrian-only zone between Strand Street and the Quays with a bank of water fountains outside the Woollen Mills Cafe.

The plans also propose blocking traffic on Abbey Street from reaching the quays at Bachelor’s Walk, a route used daily by about 1,000 motorists.

These plans come after the local authority failed to get the go-ahead for the College Green Plaza.
