After months of Level 5 restrictions this morning saw the 5km travel limit finally lifted with people now allowed travel within their county or 20km from their home.
Residential construction is also resuming today while schools this morning will be full for the first time this year, as all 1st to 4th years return to the classroom.
People from two households can now meet up outdoors for social and recreational purposes but this does not include meeting up in private gardens.
Last night the Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said “there are many reasons for hope” as restrictions are eased.
