Saoirse Ronan and Aimee Lou Wood are the latest names to be added to the cast of the forthcoming Beatles biopics, directed by Sam Mendes.
Set to arrive in April 2028, Mendes will direct four separate biopics about each member of the Fab Four, titled The Beatles A Four Film Cinematic Event, which will see Ronan join a cast which already includes fellow Irish actors Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan, who will star as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr respectively, while Harris Dickinson and Joseph Quinn will play John Lennon and George Harrison.
Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan will star as Linda McCartney in the biopic, the late wife of Beatles star Paul McCartney. This was confirmed following months of speculation.
Ronan will star alongside, The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood who will play George Harrison's partner Pattie Boyd, while Anna Sawai will play John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, with Mia McKenna-Bruce portraying Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr's wife.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right – and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure", Sam Mendes said.
Rumours have also been circulating that House of Guinness star James Norton is to take on the role of Brian Epstein, the manager of the Beatles.
Earlier this month, it also emerged that Sam Mendes was told by The Beatles' Ringo Starr to change parts of the script for the upcoming biopic. More on this from Nova here.
