Serena Williams insists she has no negative feelings about Maria Sharapova, ahead of playing her in the last-16 at the French Open tennis later.
Sharapova wrote extensively about the 23-time Grand Slam champion in her autobiography – including how she’d watched her crying in the locker room after the 2004 Wimbledon final.
It’ll be the first time they’ve played each other since the book was published.
The 36-year-old said: Women especially should bring eachother up – and a lot of people assume that I feel a different way and it’s not true – if anything I feel like we should encourage eachother. The success of one female should be the inpsiration to another and I’ve said that a thousand times…”
