A recent crackdown on CBD shops in Ireland is leaving operators confused about the legality of the products.

Several shops across the country claim to have recently had some of their stock seized by gardaí. Shop owners say that up until now they have sold their products without any hassle.

According to The Irish Times, drug squad detectives have raided a number of shops and cafes selling CBD products.

Last week, gardaí in tandem with customs officials seized €10,000 worth of plant products including tea and hemp flowers from the owners at the Little Collins Dispensary in Galway city.

Shop owners are calling for clarity on the issue and are claiming the the guards are oblivious to the legality of the product which is a non psychoactive supplement.
