Everton have announced that they have sacked manager Sam Allardyce.

The Toffees were battling relegation from the Premier League when the former England boss took charge on an 18 month deal in November.

They had climbed to eight place by the end of the season, but Allardyce's style of football was heavily criticised by fans.

Everton are said to be ready to appoint former Watford and Hull City manager Marco Silva as his replacement.
