Spotify have created a “Vaccine Songs” playlist, designed to help people celebrate getting the covid jab.

The vaccine rollout has been moving at a steady pace in the UK and US. So much so that Spotify have noticed a trend in vaccine-related playlists. This emergence is a 50% increase in Spotify playlists specific to the vaccine.

Spotify said in a statement, “Since January 1, Spotify fans have created more than 7,700 vaccine-related playlists globally”.

They added, “And based on the songs they’ve added, it’s clear that optimism, excitement and humour are key themes across tracklists”.

“Vaccine Songs”

Noticing this trend, Spotify have also added this 25 track “Vaccine Songs” playlist to their service. This measure also includes a link which provides helpful information on the vaccine itself.

Tracks also include, ABBA’s “Gimme Gimme Gimme!”, Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, as well as The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun” and more.

This also comes as Mick Jagger and Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl also teamed up to produce a track, reflecting what sort of life we have all been living since this pandemic struck.  Check out that report here.

Speaking about the track, Mick Jagger hit out at people who are opposed to the vaccine, saying that “you can’t argue with these people”.

More support for the jab

We also brought you the news in February, that Elton John starred alongside Michael Caine in an NHS advert encouraging people to get the vaccinated when offered.

In the advert, Elton can also be heard delivering this message.

“I wanted to take part in this film to help show people the benefits of getting vaccinated and how it helps protect ourselves and the people we love”.

He also added, “The more people in society who get vaccinated, the more chance there is of eradicating the national Covid pandemic. It’s really important to know that the vaccines have all been thorough and met the necessary safety and quality standards”.
