St. Patrick’s Athletic F.C. have been forced to temporarily laid off all of their playing and coaching staff as of today.

The Inchicore based outfit are fourth in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division table following the suspension of play amid covid-19 and are the third top-flight club to take such a measure following the actions of both Sligo Rovers and Cork City.

The say that with virtually no income since their last home match at the beginning of March, and with no fixtures until the Autumn due to the government ban on mass gatherings of 5,000 they are left with no choice but to regretfully take such action

The National League Executive Committee which represents all Premier and First Division clubs are meeting today to seek further clarity on the government’s restrictions.
