A status yellow rainfall warning is now in place for 11 counties from now until 6am tomorrow morning.
The areas affected include Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.
Heavy rain is due throughout the day, with up to 35 millimetres expected to fall.
