Stevie Nicks has announced a solo tour with support coming from The Pretenders.

The tour, ’24 Carat Gold’, kicks off in Phoenix on October 25th and concludes in Los Angeles in late December. She won’t be alone however, The Pretenders will accompany her along the North American route.

Speaking to The New York Times she said, “I just woke up one morning and said, I have two years off before Fleetwood Mac comes knocking on my door. Why would I want to sit around and do nothing?”.

Mick Fleetwood recently suggested Nicks was the main reason a Fleetwood Mac tour had been delayed.

When asked about the differences between touring solo and with the band, she said when alone she is her own boss but when with the band “you’re on a team everybody has the same vote — except in this particular team Lindsey has a little bit of a stronger vote than anybody else. I love being part of a team. We argue all the time, but we always have”.

She also added, “I gave up caring about how everybody else in Fleetwood Mac feels about my solo work a long time ago. It’s not their thing. If my feelings were ever hurt, it was after “Bella Donna” when I didn’t feel that anybody even listened to it”.

Meanwhile, The Pretender’s Chrissie Hynde doesn’t believe sexism exists in the music industry.
