Sting made his first public appearance since being forced to cancel several shows due to illness.
Two months ago, the former Police singer was forced to cancel a number of shows on the advice of his doctor, later revealing that he was suffering from a "temporary throat infection". These shows were due to take place at the end of January, with Sting cancelling shows in Phoenix, Arizona, and Wheatland, California. The Phoenix show was rescheduled for 1 June, with the Wheatland show re-fixed for 28 May.
Sting was also due to perform at the Cherrytree Music Company's 20th anniversary concert. This is been rescheduled for 29 May.
Now, the singer was spotted in public for the first time since postponing these shows, stepping out with his wife Trudie Styler at the Wayuu Taya Foundation's Spring Gala on Tuesday. This charity aims to improve conditions for indigenous communities.
Back in January, Sting assured fans that he was "steadily improving" from his throat infection, and thanked them for their kind messages.
"Thanks so much for all of the well wishes," he wrote on Instagram at the time.
"I am steadily improving from a temporary throat infection which has prevented me from singing, though I'm looking forward to resuming my performances and rescheduled shows soon. Love, Sting".
