The iconic Rock and Roll hall of fame ceremony took places recently and it saw some of the greats on stage performing their hits. The show was backed with performances and tributes.

The 32nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, is set to take place tomorrow (Friday, April 7th) in New York. Inductees were chosen by more than 900 voters, as well as the aggregate results of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s online fan vote. 6 artists from the ballot including Pearl Jam and Tupac Shakur are included in the Performer Category and 1 individual is recognized with an Award for Musical Excellence. It was announced yesterday (April 5th) that there’s been a last minute change and David Letterman will step in to induct Pearl Jam into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame host, filling in for Neil Young.

Next month will see the Tribeca Film Festival take place at the historic Beacon Theatre in New York’s Upper East Side. It’s now been revealed that in a newly announced series of “Tribeca Talks” Tom Hanks will take on the role of interviewer and sit down with long-time friend, The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen to discuss Springsteen’s position in American Rock history.

The Joshua Tree is the fifth studio album by U2, released on the 9th of March, 1987. It was the album that launched the band into the spotlight with their three massive hit singles 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', 'Where The Streets have No Name' & 'With or Without You'. Using the textured sonics of The Unforgettable Fire as a basis, U2 expanded those innovations by scaling back the songs to a personal setting and adding a grittier attack for its follow-up, The Joshua Tree. It's a move that returns them to the sweeping, anthemic rock of War, but if War was an exploding political bomb, The Joshua Tree is a journey through its aftermath, trying to find sense and hope in the desperation.

Black Sabbath have officially shot down rumours of any future tours. The band took to their official twitter page to confirm their split, and with the hashtag “#The End” extinguished fans hopes of a reunion. They posted an image with the words “Black Sabbath: 1968-2017”– along with a classic photo of Sabbath in their ’70s prime. Nearly five decades since the band set upon their journey, it’s all over.

Queen guitarist Brian May has again teamed up with West End singer Kerry Ellis who he previously referred to as having “Britain’s most beautiful voice”. Ellis has appeared on London’s West End in such shows as My Fair Lady, Les Miserables, Wicked and the Queen musical We Will Rock You.The pair have now revealed the details and release date for their new album. Set to drop next month, on April 7, the new album is entitled Golden Days. May and Ellis have known each other for over thirteen years and have previously joined forces with 2010’s Anthems and a number of joint live dates.

On this day in 1991, over two decades after its first release, Free’s 'All Right Now' made No.2 in the UK singles chart. Originally released in the mid 1970’s by the English rock band, the song appeared on their Album Fire and Water which was recorded for Island records. It was re-issued in 1991 to coincide with its use in a Wrigley’s Chewing gum TV ad. Featuring a “cute meet”, the commercial showed us what real love is all about: sharing and sacrificing.
