Dublin Fine Gael TD Maria Bailey could be removed as a candidate for the party in the next general election.

The party’s Blackrock District, part of the Dún Laoghaire constituency which Ms. Bailey represents, has tabled of motion of no confidence in her.

It wasn’t voted on at last night’s branch meeting, which Deputy Bailey attended, but is likely to be proposed again at a later date.

Maria Bailey was demoted by the Taoiseach after a Fine Gael review found she overstated the impact of her injuries in a case she was taking.

That’s after falling off a swing in the Dean Hotel in Dublin.
