The Cure have shared a snippet from their new comeback single, ‘Alone’.

The track which you can check out below, is from the band’s upcoming album, ‘Songs Of A Lost World’.

New music has been teased by the band via postcards on social media, which confirmed the album’s title release. The album will arrive on November 1.

Previously, Robert Smith and co had been creating a ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ poster at a pub in Crawley, while also suggesting that a gig in Blackpool is on the horizon.

‘Songs Of A Lost World’ will serve as the first album from The Cure since ‘4:13 Dream’ in 2008.

Now, The Cure have shared a sneak preview from their new album, a clip from their comeback tune.

Fans of the band have signed up to their website and WhatsApp community, with a message sent out yesterday afternoon (September 20).

“Want to hear ‘Alone’?”, the message read. It was sent with the option to click ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

For fans who chose ‘Yes’, they received a 12 second audio clip, with a message saying that they could “discover more at songsofalost.world”.

The message also included the release date in Roman numerals, which can be used to access the site.

When you log into the site, you can hear a slow, ghostly riff played by Smith, who sings “This is the end of every song we sing“. The lyrics were also sent into another WhatsApp update. Check out this video here.

Last year, it emerged that The Cure had broken several touring records, despite a call from Robert Smith for lower ticket prices. More on this from Nova here.
