Experts have warned eating moderate amounts of ham, bacon and red meat can increase the risk of bowel cancer.

Oxford University’s study found three rashers of bacon a day could increase the risk of by 20%.

The research also found people with a high intake of fibre from bread and breakfast cereals lowered their risk by 14%.
