Two Men Arrested After €2.8 Million Drug Seizure

An investigation is continuing after a major drug seizure in Dublin.

Two men were arrested after cocaine, heroin and other drugs were seized yesterday.

€2.8M worth of drugs were discovered by members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau on Wednesday, December 20th.

The drugs were discovered when Gardaí stopped and searched two cars in the Drumcondra area, discovering five kilos of cannabis herb.

Two men aged 25 and 30 were arrested at the scene and are being held at Finglas Garda Station as the total amount of drugs seized was suspected to be in excess of €2M.

A number of other drugs including cocaine, heroin, cannabis herb, cannabis resin, ecstasy tablets and drug packaging and mixing paraphernalia were found during in a follow up operation which also took place in Drumcondra.

A 25-year-old man is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court on Thursday morning at 10.30am charged in relation to the investigation.
