U2's new album Songs Of Experience

U2 may be flying high at number one in the Billboard Album Charts, but the rockers have been knocked off the top of the Irish charts by none other than Christy Moore.

It comes one week after the release of the band’s new album, ‘Songs of Experience’.

U2 went straight to number one upon their release, but Christy Moore’s latest addition ‘On The Road‘ has now outsold U2’s new album, which has dropped to number four in the Irish album charts.

Songs of Experience is U2’s fourteenth studio album and was released on December 1st 2017.

The album is intended as a companion piece to their last album Songs of Innocence while the theme focuses on a collection of letters written by Bono to people and places closest to his heart.

The lyrics reflect a ‘brush with mortality’ that Bono had during the album’s recording.
