Peadar Tóibín says he will give serious consideration over the next week to Sinn Fein’s decision to suspend him.
The party took the action after he voted against the Abortion Bill in the Dail last week.
A suspension of 6 months has been imposed over his decision to defy the party whip.
Deputy Tóibín, from the Meath West constituency, believes there is a possibility of an election in that time and says the move presents significant difficulties and uncertainties.
