World number one Simona Halep has won her first ever Grand Slam tennis title.

She came back from a set down to beat American Sloane Stephens 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the final of the French Open. Halep lost at the same stage in Paris last year.

It was all square in the French open Final between Simona Halep and Sloane Stephens. They both took a set each in Paris. Stephens looked comfortable as she took the opening set 6-3.

However, Halep showed determination to level the game claiming the second set 6-4 and  securing the final set 6-1 in her first Grand Slam victory.
