Video: Green Day Set To Release ‘Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk’

As reported recently in Nova’s Seriously Addictive Music News, veteran punk rockers Green Day are set to release the 2017 documentary, Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk. Inclusive of this will see the release of an accompanying soundtrack due on June 22nd. The 2-disc Blu-ray and DVD package features the full-length cinematic cut of the film alongside five deleted scenes and more.

The epic documentary is directed by Corbett Redford and narrated by the legendary Iggy Pop and Green Day are executive producers. The film spans more than three decades of the California Bay Area’s punk music history. It focuses on the music collective 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, CA. That’s where the band kicked off their glittering career in the 1980s, at a club that helped launch the likes of The Offspring, Rancid, and Operation Ivy, among many more.

Available as a 2LP or double-cassette set, the soundtrack delivers the opening and closing credit songs from the documentary and 35 mostly rare, unreleased and/or out-of-print tracks from bands like Green Day, Rancid, Neurosis, Operation Ivy, Jawbreaker, Pinhead Gunpowder, and many more
