Sam Fender has shared the video for his new single, Saturday. Directed by James Slater in London, the video features a starring role by Matt King (Super Hans in Peep Show).
2019 has been a year that Sam Fender won’t want to end; starting as the BRITs Critics’ Choice winner, he is currently out on a sold-out celebratory run of the UK & Ireland in support of his acclaimed UK #1 debut album, Hypersonic Missiles. The tour concludes a fantastic 2019 for the captivating young musician from the North East, and features a sold out night at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre.
From his debut album “Hypersonic Missiles”, Saturday is described in a press release as “an ode to the misery of an excruciatingly slow working week, a bank account that remains resolutely empty, a landlord not returning calls on a problematic flat, and the minor solace of the weekend forever just out of reach”

Sam describes Saturday as “An anthem for the everyman about living for the weekend and sticking two fingers up to zero hours contracts”
Since its release, “Hypersonic Missiles” become both the second fastest selling UK debut of the year, and the fastest selling vinyl LP by a debuting artist since the Official Charts began.
