Set in a cheap Parisian hotel room we are with Oscar as he lies on his death bed and past memories flood back. From the glory days when he was once the most famous man in London to being the artist crucified by a society that once worshiped him after a forbidden love affair.
Written and directed by it’s star Rupert Everett, THE HAPPY PRINCE is a beautiful portrait of the dark side of a genius who seemingly was all about love and life and putting them into words. This was whoever an eye opener into a part of Oscar’s story that I never knew of and it was such a well put together film. And that’s why THE HAPPY PRINCE gets ★★★★★
