A gold record awarded to original AC/DC bassist Mark Evans has sold on eBay for $4200 (AU)/€3,431.00.
Evans auctioned his French gold record award for the band’s 1976 album,“High Voltage,” to raise funds for the Sydney Secondary College (Balmain campus) girls soccer team.

The school is sending the team to Hawaii to compete next month and Evans put up his coveted award to help them on their way.

The gold award was presented to each member of the band in October 1980 by Atlantic Records France to signify the sale of 100,000 copies their first European album release.

Evans was the bass player for AC/DC from March 1975 to June 1977; he played on the albums “TNT”, “High Voltage”, “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”, “Let There Be Rock” and “Jailbreak 74”.

Evans’ autobiography, “Dirty Deeds: My Life Inside/Outside of AC/DC,” is available at his website here.

That would have looked sweet hanging in the NOVA hall!
