Dublin is to be lashed by heavy rain and flooding today as a Status Yellow rainfall alert is in place today.
It is set to be a blustery and wet day with “heavy downpours” which will result in “localised flooding,” a forecaster said.
The weather warning is valid until 9 pm tonight and is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow, and Meath. Temperatures will range at 8C or 9C during the daytime.
Tonight will see more showers and gusty winds for a time which may lead to more flooding. It’ll be cold with temperatures of 1C to 3C.

Tomorrow will start off cold but any frost or fog will clear with a dry and bright day with sunny spells in store. Temperatures will be between 7C to 9C.
While there is no further forecast for Dublin, the national outlook says it’ll be “cold and changeable”. Tomorrow night will be dry and cold early in the night with some frost.
According to Met Eireann: “Temperatures will increase overnight as southerly winds freshen and outbreaks of rain spread to Atlantic coastal counties.
“Rain will then extend eastwards across the country during the night, turning heavy and persistent. Minimum temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees, occurring early in the night.
