The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, has pleaded not guilty to felony weapons charges in court.

Jillian Lauren, whose full name is Jillian Lauren Shriner, was charged on two counts of felony weapons, after being arrested by police following a shootout after an unrelated car chase incident.

This happened after police were called to a hit-and-run incident involving three suspects, who later fled into a nearby neighbourhood, with one suspect reportedly fleeing to a private residence.

It was then reported that Jill Lauren, who was not believed to have been involved in the earlier hit-and-run, emerged from her house with a handgun, and refused to drop it, despite "numerous" calls to do so. Police said that Lauren had also "pointed the handgun at the officers", before being shot in the shoulder.

Appearing in court on Tuesday, Jill Lauren who was originally charged for attempted murder, pleaded not guilty to discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The next hearing is scheduled to take place on 18 June.
