Wilson BECKon’s for 11th Solo Album.

Beach Boy genius Brian Wilson is hooking up with guitar genius Jeff Beck to make Brian’s 11th solo album.

Brian Wilson is back with Capitol Records after a four-year layoff in which he recorded two albums for Walt Disney Records. The still untitled set is being self-produced by Wilson with contributions from Beach Boys co-founders Al Jardine and David MarksJeff Beck and his rhythm section, Vinnie Colaiuta and Tal Wilkenfeld — along with members of Wilson’s longtime ensemble, and studio vets Don Was and Jim Keltner.

There’s been no release date set for the new album, which is the followup to Wilson’s 2011 collection, Songs In The Key Of Disney.

Wilson spoke about his admiration for Jeff Beck — whom he recently appeared with at a Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp, saying, “When I watched Jeff Beck perform ‘Surf’s Up’ to honor me at the MusiCares Person of the Year event in 2005, I knew I had to find a way to work with him. He absolutely blew my mind and we’ve been friends ever since. Jeff’s incredible guitar playing is exactly what I want for my new album and I’m also looking forward to performing live with him soon.”
