An investigation is under way into the death of a woman whose body was found at an apartment in Dublin this morning.
A man is assisting gardaí with their inquiries and is now receiving medical treatment. Gardai were alerted at around 10am this morning.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at an apartment in Royal Canal Park in Ashtown.
The scene has been preserved pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and the Garda Forensic Bureau. The body of the woman remains at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing while Gardai say they are following a definite line of inquiry.
