Youngsters Beaten Up By Teen Gang Demanding Phones In Meath

Three youngsters were knocked to the ground by a gang of heartless teens who attempted to take their mobile phones.

According to Dublin Live, the incident happened near Beach Grove in Laytown last Monday evening, 17th of February.

The Meath Chronicle reports that a group of 10-15 youths approached three young persons and demanded their mobile phones and then assaulted two of them by pushing them to the ground and kicking them.

Two of the victims suffered minor injuries before the gang then fled the scene towards the local train station.

Fortunately, the three youngsters were able to hold on to all of their valuables. Gardai in Laytown has issued an appealed for information.

A spokesperson said: “Gardaí at Laytown are investigating an assault incident which occurred at Beach Grove on Monday afternoon.

“At 4 pm a group of 10-15 youths approached three young persons and demanded their mobile phones and subsequently assaulted two of them by knocking them to the ground and kicking them. The victims suffered minor injuries.

“No property was stolen. The group of offenders then ran towards Laytown railway station.”
