Rents around the country are now 30% higher than they were at the peak of the Celtic Tiger.
The latest data from Daft.ie shows rent in South County Dublin is the most expensive at €2,156.
The average monthly rent is now over €1,300 – which is an 11% increase this year alone.
The biggest increases were in Limerick and Waterford.
But author of the report, Ronan Lyons, says rents in Dublin are particularly bad:
“Countrywide rents are about €300 higher than the peak just over a decade ago – and almost €600 higher than when they bottomed out in 2013…
But in Dublin figures are much worse rents are €1000 euro higher a month than they were at their lowest point.
