No More 'Miss' Or 'Mrs' For Female Players At Wimbledon

Umpires at Wimbledon will no longer reference a female player’s marital status when announcing scores.

Women competing in the tournament are always referred to a “Miss” or “Mrs.”

While male tennis players have always just been referred to by their surnames.

The Times reports that the change has been made “to achieve consistency for both ladies and gentlemen.”
