It has been reported that Barry Keoghan is to star alongside Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in an adaption of Don Winslow’s novella, Crime 101.

This film will also see Saltburn star Keoghan reunite with writer and director Bart Layton, who previously worked with the Irish actor on the film, American Animals in 2018.

Keoghan will also feature in the movie alongside Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Hemsworth whose roles in this film were confirmed last month.

While details regarding the official synopsis for this movie have yet to be confirmed, the original story which was scribed by Winslow, sees Detective Lou Lubesnick investigate a series of jewellery robberies from across the Pacific Coast, which are linked with the Colombian cartels.

Media outlet Deadline have reported: “Detective Lou Lubesnick has other ideas, and he zeroes in on one perp, a thief looking for a final score”.

Keoghan To Star In New Iraq War Movie

Back in February, it was confirmed that Barry Keoghan would star in a new Iraq war movie, Amo Saddam.

Like Crime 101, this movie is also based on a book, The Prisoner in His Palace: Saddam Hussein, His American Guards, and What History Leaves Unsaid, to be precise.

The book itself also focuses on the 12 soldiers who grew close to Saddam ahead of his execution.

Directed by Johan Renck, the film will also see Keoghan star as a US soldier, who is guarding former Iraq leader Saddam Hussein, as the dictator awaits trial for crimes against humanity.

“Barry has proven himself time and time again to be an actor who is so adept at playing really complex characters and we couldn’t be happier having him as our lead for what is going to be a challenging, ambitious and hopefully really special film”, producer Michael Parets said.
