An investigation has been launched after a man was abusive to staff at a coffee shop in Dublin city centre, prior to allegedly attacking a member of the public.
A video of the incident at Butlers Chocolate Cafe on Grafton Street last week has gone viral, and today gardai launched an appeal for witnesses.
They say the man, who wasn’t wearing a face covering, entered the shop at around 4pm last Thursday November 18th, and was extremely abusive to staff expressing mindless homophobic and anti-mask rhetoric.
Officers say he left in the direction of College Green and allegedly attacked a person as he left the shop.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who was on Grafton Street on the day of the incident, between 3.55pm and 4.25 to contact them.
This is the level of an anti masker in a Butlers in Dublin. A nasty homophobic little bully boy. I’m embarrassed for him. Who is he?! #garda #manbun #coward pic.twitter.com/f1iCfhQgeX
