From today visits to nursing homes are allowed as new guidelines from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre come into effect.
The new guidelines allow for one visit by one person per week.
Visits should be limited to 1 hour and do not need to be by the same person each week.
Residents may also have an extra visit during the Christmas and New Year period.
Until now, only window visits to nursing homes were allowed between Levels 3 and 5 of the Plan for Living with Covid-19.
