Fans of PJ Gallagher on Radio Nova in the morning will now get to see him on the telly at night too!

The upcoming fourth series of the hit comedy series The Young Offenders will come to BBC One on Friday May 10th at 9.30pm, with all the beloved characters, including Principal Barry Walsh played by PJ, returning.

The new series follows on from the hugely successful previous three series which originally aired on BBC Three, the 2018 Christmas special which saw the show move to BBC One for the first time and the box office smash feature film from 2016.

Creator and showrunner Peter Foott says “We’re so excited to be bringing all of the team back for the new series of The Young Offenders.  We’ve been able to change things up a little bit this time around, but the show is still true to its roots, we wanted to give the fans the same mix of funny storylines that are also heartfelt, so it’s very much the same show with all cast returning.  Everyone involved is delighted with series four, and we can’t wait for people to see it and be back in the world of The Young Offenders.”

The upcoming series is directed by Jamie Jay Johnson and will continue to follow the escapades of Corkonians Conor MacSweeney (Alex Murphy), his best friend Jock O’Keeffe (Chris Walley) and his Conor’s mam, Mairead (Hilary Rose).

Gallagher, who can also be heard from 6am to 10am on weekdays right here on Nova alongside Morning Glory co host Jim McCabe, has played Principal Barry Walsh in the TV show but notably played a drug dealer in the film version.
