Huge waves have been lashing buildings on the Canary island of Tenerife along the north coast. Reports suggest that around 39 people were told to leave their homes as the huge waves began to come in.
Footage shared on social media by Nelson Acosta, records the gigantic waves swelling in from the sea and lashing the side of a building gutting the railings from the balconies.
Waves up to six metres also battered the southern coast of the island. There are no reports of any injuries.
