In cinemas now, DOUBLE BLIND follows seven young test subjects who must face a terrifying side effect when an experimental drug trial goes horribly wrong!

Written by the award-winning screenwriter Darach McGarrigle and starring British actress Millie Brady (The Last Kingdom, The Queen’s Gambit, Roadkill) alongside horror icon Pollyanna McIntosh (Vikings: Valhalla, The Walking Dead, The Woman), I got to speak with the screen scream queen McIntosh about making DOUBLE BLIND in Ireland and whether she actually gets scared watching horror!

The thrilling Irish horror had its world premiere at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) in 2023.  The directorial debut feature from Ian Hunt-Duffy also screened at the highly regarded Swiss festival as part of its ULTRA MOVIES programme.

Speaking about the world premiere, director Ian Hunt-Duffy said: “I am delighted that DOUBLE BLIND will have its World Premiere at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival next month. NIFFF is one of the best film festivals in the world for genre cinema, so it is the perfect place to launch DOUBLE BLIND. We are screening alongside some other incredible genre films, so I’m really excited to experience it with an audience for the first time.”

In cinemas now from Wildcard Distribution, DOUBLE BLIND was filmed in Limerick and Dublin and was produced by Simon James Doyle for Dublin-based production company Failsafe Films in association with Los Angeles-based indie genre production company Epic Pictures Group and Screen Ireland.

The film is the latest in a string of celebrated and successful Irish co-productions Epic Pictures Group has been a part of with notable titles including THE CELLAR starring Elisha Cuthbert, critically acclaimed ghost comedy EXTRA ORDINARY, starring Will Forte and comedian Maeve Higgins, and Neasa Hardiman’s feature directorial debut SEA FEVER, starring Connie Nielsen, Hermione Corfield, and Dougray Scott, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019.
