Motorists are facing significant delays on the M50 in both directions today. Northbound traffic is particularly heavy from Junction 16 to Junction 13 and again between Junction 7 and Junction 6, while on the southbound side there is congestion from Junction 14 to Junction 13. The situation is worsened on the M1 southbound, where delays are building between Junction 7 and Junction 4. In total, there are nearly 120 traffic jams reported across Dublin.
A collision on the M50 southbound before Junction 13 Dundrum has blocked the hard shoulder. Adding to the disruption, a truck has broken down on the M3 outbound at the Junction 2 slip, while another breakdown at Junction 6 Blanchardstown is affecting lane one. These incidents mean the M50 southbound is now extremely congested from Junction 7 Lucan to Junction 13 Dundrum.
Delays are also spilling into key routes heading into the city centre. On the northside, traffic is heavy along Coolock Lane, Navan Road, Ratoath Road, Phibsborough Road and Gardiner Street. On the southside, the Stillorgan Road is slow-moving from Newtownpark Avenue to UCD, while Rock Road is also experiencing significant hold-ups.
It’s not just the roads under strain. Irish Rail services are facing delays of five to seven minutes on some southbound trains between Clontarf and Pearse. Meanwhile, the 07:17 Howth to Greystones service departed Tara Street nine minutes late after a technical issue with the DART.
⚠️ Drivers and commuters are advised to allow extra time for their journeys this morning as congestion and delays continue across Dublin.
