Journey legend Steve Perry is to auction off his personal archives for charity.
Perry is to sell off a number of sought after items including handwritten lyrics to Journey songs like 'Only The Young' and 'Separate Ways'; his Diamond records, including one for Journey’s 1980 album, Escape; test pressings; tour programs and vintage tour merch; and studio-used instruments.
These items go up for sale as part of a holiday auction organised by Perry, which will include a number of festive pickings, such as signed promotional items and singles from his Christmas albums, The Season, and The Season 3, as well as a signed promotional guitar.
Speaking about this, Steve Perry said: “I’m excited to once again open up my personal archives for this special Holiday auction and give the fans who have supported me through the years a chance to own a piece of my musical journey".
“Every item in this collection comes directly from my personal archive. These pieces have been carefully stored for many years, and now I feel it’s the right time to pass them on from my hands to yours, to be enjoyed, remembered and part of your own personal collections".
This auction was set up by Darkives Collectables, raising money for Gilead House, a charity helping unhoused single mothers and their children who have been victims of abuse to rebuild their lives.
The auction will run on December 16. Find out more via this link here.
Previously, Steve Perry had organised a similar auction over the summer, raising more than $200,000 for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
