Sharon Osbourne has responded to "cash grab" accusations over AI Ozzy Osbourne avatar.

Sharon has called out the people stating the new AI avatar of Ozzy is a "cash grab" as she says she "doesn’t need your f******* money”.

The news of the AI avatar of Ozzy was revealed by his widow Sharon, son Jack last month at a discussion about the future of Ozzy's brand.

They have collaborated with the tech company Hyperreal, to create the AI Ozzy.

At the event, Sharon said that avatar means you can "ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice — and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said."

“We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back,” she continued.

Talking about the avatar, Jack said that it is "scary" how "accurate" it is. “He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it’s almost drag-and-drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It’s that simple now," he said.

After they revealed their plans to create an avatar of Ozzy, fans had mixed reactions, some even claimed that it was distasteful.

Whilst the Osbourne family were receiving backlash for this decision, Jack posted a video to Youtube explaining that it was like “hooking up an image of my dad to ChatGPT” and that he had discussed the idea with his dad before he passed. Jack said he is moving forward with the idea as he thinks it is “something that my dad would be into”.

On the Osbournes' podcast, Sharon also defended the decision to create an avatar of Ozzy, she said: “The thing is, it’s like when there were propellers and then there were jet planes. [People would question] ‘Why go on a jet when there’s a propeller? It’s a cash grab’.”

“Well, you know what, technology moves on, and I’m sorry for those people. I’m not asking you to come. I don’t want your f******* money. I don’t need your f****** money. I’m doing very well. For somebody to turn around to me and say I’m doing a cash grab? No, you don’t know my husband, OK? I know my husband. My husband would say to me over and over, ‘After I go, how long do you think I’ll be remembered?’” she continued.
