The FAI is reviewing video footage from Ireland's UEFA Nations League match against Israel before deciding whether to request a formal UEFA investigation into alleged racist abuse directed at Republic of Ireland player Adam Idah.
During Sunday's 3-0 victory in Debrecen, offensive chants were reportedly heard from a section of Israeli supporters. Ireland midfielder Jayson Molumby raised concerns with match officials at half-time, urging referee Harm Osmers to "listen" to the abuse and pointing towards the stands.
However, UEFA's anti-racism protocol was not activated because Molumby did not specifically use the word "racism" when speaking to officials. Referee Osmers and the match officials subsequently determined they had not heard any racist chanting during the game.

The FAI has since confirmed it will examine available video evidence to establish whether racist abuse occurred. If sufficient evidence is found, the association intends to submit its findings to UEFA and seek a formal investigation into the incident.
The controversial match took place in front of a sparse crowd at Debrecen's Nagyerdei Stadion, with only a small number of spectators in attendance. With news earlier in the week of Gavin Bazunu's decision to withdraw from the match against Israel.
In a statement Bazunu expressed "There are few times when you get a chance in life to stand for something bigger and I strongly believe that this is one of them."
