Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is taking Thames Valley Police to court in a bid to quash search warrants which led to his arrest.

A private High Court hearing is set to take place on Thursday, a judicial spokesperson said according to RTE.

Earlier this year, the former prince was taken into custody on his 66th birthday amid allegations that he passed sensitive information to Jeffrey Epstein during his time as the UK's trade envoy.

The Telegraph reported that the ex prince has been granted permission to challenge whether the police acted lawfully over the searches related to his arrest in February.

Police raided Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's former home, Royal Lodge, and his residence on the Sandringham Estate after an Old Bailey judge issued search warrants.

A judicial spokesperson confirmed a 2pm High Court hearing on Thursday, where Thames Valley Police will seek to restrict public access to court documents in private proceedings.

It is currently unknown if Mountbatten-Windsor will attend the hearing.

Following his February 19 arrest and interview under caution, he was released under investigation.

Charges of misconduct in a public office can involve financial wrongdoing, leaking confidential information, willful neglect, sexual misconduct, and abusing power for personal gain.

Late last year, King Charles removed his brother's titles including his prince status and dukedom over his involvement with Epstein.
