The signalling problem has now been rectified, but Irish Rail has warned that knock-on delays of up to 75 minutes will continue to affect services.
Passengers travelling to and from Heuston Station, as well as services between Newbridge, Hazelhatch and Grand Canal Dock, are being advised to expect delays, heavy loadings and alterations.

Irish Rail said on X: “Services are experiencing delays of up to +75mins due to a signalling issue at Hazelhatch.”
The operator later confirmed that the signalling issue had been resolved but said disruption would continue as the network recovers.
The disruption has caused congestion along the line, with the 7.35am service from Newbridge to Heuston cancelled as a result.
Passengers have also been reminded that Leap Cards can be used on all TFI public transport services in the affected area.
Irish Rail has advised commuters to allow extra time for their journeys this morning.
